Wiccan night

Warm lights awake
In the cold depths of night.
One by one they
Become a circle of rite.

To the North stands
The Earth that is her body,
Walk deosil to come
To her bright spirit.

Cast the circle
With fire and water,
Fire from the Far East,
Water from the sea.

Two more flames
Blaze in the darkness.
Begin in perfection
With love and trust.

Call her upon
Her names, countless.
Demeter, Pele, Aphrodite,
Hecate join the circle.

Call him upon
His names, countless.
Stag, Zeus, Eros,
Pan join the circle.

At last you come
To the four Elements.
Earth, Air, Fire
And water join the circle.

All are together,
Say the words for which
You stand here,
For which you join the circle.

The last light
Flames in the iron,
Sending your prayer
To the higher.

Thank all who
Join your night.
Close the circle,
Finish your rite.
